Howstat?! is a visual and interactive way to follow real-time cricket scores. With Howstat?! anyone can understand who's winning, which player is performing well and which team is crushing its rivals in the current T20 Big Bash league.
Howstat?! proves that sports stats don't need to be dry and boring, and should be easily accessible to anyone, despite their prior knowledge of the game.
Playing too much Leisure Suit Larry and International Cricket on NES in our youths, resulted in an 8-bit style iPhone game called Water Boy. The game was developed for Cricket Victoria and the Victorian Bushrangers, to promote the team and the 2011 domestic cricket season.
The game features current players with varying abilities, unlockable characters, score sharing on Facebook and Twitter and is fully integrated with the Apple Game Centre.
Using social networks such as Instagram, Foursquare and Twitter we gave Melbourne Stars fans the chance to be on the big screen during the KFC T20 Big Bash matches at the MCG. The campaign has been a great success, with hundreds of photos and tweets tagged with the Stars hashtag #feelthepower.
It was a simple and interactive way to increase fan engagement, both at the match or from their couch.
When not working on things that you can click or tap, I draw. I've done poster art for bands (Flaming Lips, Beastie Boys, Franz Ferdinand), as well as lots of illustration and character design.
My work has been also featured in various exhibitions (After Dark, MODA in Atlanta, Georgia) and books (Semi-Permanent), and band posters are sold at Outré in Melbourne, and Beyond The Pale in St Kilda.
One for the hardcore Victorian cricket fan. The Victorian Bushrangers iPhone app features the latest news, results, fixtures and standings, as well as exclusive behind the scenes videos, detailed player information and stats.
Live 'Match day' features allow fans to chat using Twitter, watch live results, set reminders and check-in to matches using Foursquare.
This site was created for Melbourne based writer Mark Welker to showcase his work and ideas. It was great to collaborate with someone who also has a keen interest in design, usability and readability.
The site features Mark's stories which can be downloaded as PDFs and audio readings, and a redesigned blog that allows users to share and comment.
